In Swedish work culture every team go out once in a Month after work for some activity , Show , event , and dinner .

My first Afterwork experience was to go for skiing with team members to flotsbro skiing resort and that was my first Skiing Experience it was down hill skiing and that too during night in lights .

I tried with all my strength and stamina , it was hard but fun .

Next After work was Bowling challenge among team members , most if the colleagues have an idea that we don't have such sports in India and it must be first experience for me till me and Saheer desevered third and first position respectively .

then it was again amazing one Indoor Beech Volly ball match between teams from my department and our neighbour department

My Skiing Experience

Its my fourth Skiing experience It has been three times have done Downhill Skiing and Cross Country Skiing for Once the latest 17th feb 2012 .

It was an awesome experience , If you really want to try some winter sports .

First time I went for skiing was a after work event
for beginners like me cross country skiing seems quite convenient then downhill skiing .

most of skiing resorts have Skis to rent , you can pay a nominal amount of money at counter and they will fix a ski and Ski boots as per your weight and feet size , people with almost same physic can share .

I will recommend not to buy skiing pass (if you afraid to go to up hill ) first you can try at level .

Before you go :

Clothing : Clothing is Important for Skiing try to carry Water resistence (Rail coat / wind cheater )
Food : Take Sandwiches and Hot food as you feel very cold after skiing and also hot breveges .
Sunscreen is must if its a sunny day .

As per my experience and happen to my friends too toughest part of event is to wear you equipment , Its good to know about equipments and
how to use them before you go for Skiing .

Fika (The best thing at work )

Best thing I like about my office is fikapaus or fikarast ! :-)

Its tradition here , during every day work we take two coffeepaus at 9 :00 in morning and 14:30 in evening. how much work do you have or you are overloaded with work but no one skips fika with colleagues .

The best part of tradition is Friday Fika when one of the team member who has his /her turn have to bring special fika for everyone , here we have card/token in every team , the person responsible for fika for that particulate Friday keep this at his desk and pass it to next person on next Monday for next week Frydag Fika !!

Whatever the reason what ever the occasion is like if one buys a home , car or pass his car in test bring fika for every one .

when it was my turn , I thought of taking some India stuff for my team and then changed my mind as I was not sure whether they will like it or not ,then I bought Sandwiches for everyone .

I must say here No one takes their coffee breaks more seriously than Swedish !

Religion in Sweden

"Is religion an important part of your daily life?"

My experience about religion and belief is totally different of what I have thought about a Christine country

I have rarely see people go to Church and most of them are immigrants converted Christens .

Even religious education covering all major world religions is compulsory in public schools they read about all religion and Gods , Hinduism , Buddhism , Islam , etc , they have knowledge about all religion but only few have belief in God , most of them do not believe there is any sort of spirit, god, or life force.

Experiment with Name

I would like to share an intresting part of my stay here , its how they call me its hard to Pronounce my name as they don't have a different pronunciation for alphabets here .

They pronounce J as "Y" and Y as "yee " so its Viyayee :D

It took some time and effort and finally they manage to call me "Vj" Not Vijay :P
